14. Multi-channel and CAVE support
TerrainView is a high-end system designed for seamless multi-channel and multi-projection visualizations on multiple screens and walls, including CAVE environments (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment) for real-time applications, simulations, and training. It enables visualization on multiple screens by synchronizing the camera on all participating computers, with no special hardware requirements for individual computers. With full software synchronization across virtual pipelines and fast and precise software Genlock over a network (LAN), it provides fast multi-channel rendering. The TerrainView GUI offers simple configuration and management of multi-channels, including easy master and slave channel control, advanced viewport control, and advanced camera offset control.
15. Precise 3D measurement
TerrainView allows various kinds of 3d measurements to be made, e.g. distances, angles, profiles and areas. Furthermore, it is possible to determine the position and distance of any terrain point by means of the cursor.
16. Advanced weather and athmospheric effects
For the generation of realistic scenes, TerrainView provides a wide palette of atmospheric effects, including time of day, date, sun, stars, cloud layers, wind, visibility, sky color, and fog. The environments module also includes rain, snow effects and volumetric clouds.
17. TerrainView-Remote Control API
The TerrainView-Remote Control API is the core technology for observation, reconnaissance and surveillance on the basis of virtually modelled 3D terrains and landscapes in natural and urban environments. The application is perfectly suited for 3D terrain monitoring and the tracking of dynamic features on the ground, in the air and on the sea.
TerrainView-Remote Control API offers a way to remotely manipulate points of interest (POIs) and 3D objects inside a scene over a TCP/IP connection. POIs can represent text, billboard images or hyperlinks. The communication is based on XMLRPC, a remote procedure call interface using HTTP as the transport and XML as the encoding protocol. XMLRPC is platform independent, therefore the software controlling the TerrainView scene can run on any operating system.
18. Clear information tree
TerrainView’s information tree lists all primitives, locations, 3D models, and dynamic objects, providing an organized view of the scene. The tree supports grouping elements into folders, allowing for efficient management of large scenes. It also allows users to save the show/hide status for objects, making it easy to control the visibility of various elements in the scene.
19. Easy configurations
Save complete scenes including terrain, 3D models, flight paths, points of interest, and weather conditions to configuration files for easy access in future sessions.
20. Full OpenGL support
TerrainView™ rendering is accelerated through OpenGL, which is the industry standard for high-speed 3D graphics programming, and TerrainView™ takes full advantage of leading-edge OpenGL features.
